Carrollton & McKinney Invisalign for Kids and Teens

A clear (and discreet) way to straighten a growing smile

Invisalign uses a series of custom, removable clear aligners to gently move teeth into place — no metal brackets, no wires, and no food restrictions. For a lot of kids and especially teens, it’s a more comfortable and less noticeable way to straighten their teeth.

At Kidz and Teen Dental + Orthodontics, we plan every Carrollton & McKinney Invisalign case around your child’s growth stage, bite, and daily routine. Dr. Haider’s background spans pediatric dentistry, facial orthopedics, and orthodontics, so aligners are one option we recommend when they’re the right fit for your child.

Why families choose clear aligners

  • Nearly invisible, so self-conscious teens feel more confident wearing them
  • Removable for meals: kids keep eating the foods they love
  • Easier brushing and flossing than fixed braces, which protects teeth during treatment
  • Smooth plastic instead of brackets and wires, so fewer mouth sores and irritation
  • Fewer "broken bracket" emergency visits during the school year
  • Digital scans instead of messy impressions

Is your child a good candidate?

Invisalign works well for a lot of cases, but not every one. It tends to be a strong fit when:
  • The crowding or spacing is mild to moderate
  • The bite issue suits aligner treatment
  • Your child is mature enough to keep the aligners in 20-22 hours a day and not lose them
  • A discreet, removable option matters to your family
Some kids still do better with braces, an expander, or a growth-guiding appliance first, particularly younger children still developing their bite. If aligners aren’t the right call, we’ll tell you why and walk you through the alternatives.

Invisalign or braces?

Neither option is automatically “better.” Each one is better for certain cases.
  • Braces give us more control for complex movements and don't depend on a child remembering to wear them.
  • Invisalign offers a removable, low-visibility option for the right candidate who can stay consistent.
Because we provide metal braces, clear braces, and Invisalign all under one roof, our recommendation is based on your child’s bite.

What treatment looks like

STEP 1
Consultation and digital scan

We start with an orthodontic evaluation to see whether aligners are the right tool for your child’s bite. Instead of goopy molds, we use a digital iTero scan to capture their teeth in minutes. It’s quick, clean, and far more comfortable for kids.

STEP 2
A custom treatment plan

From the scan, we map out how the teeth will move and roughly how long treatment will take. We’ll walk you and your child through the plan in plain language before anything starts.

STEP 3
Wearing the aligners

Your child wears each set of aligners about 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. They switch to the next set on the schedule we give you, and each set moves the teeth a little closer to the goal.

STEP 4
Check-ins and retainers

We see your child periodically to track progress and make adjustments. When treatment wraps up, a retainer keeps everything in place so the results hold.

Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can my child start Invisalign?
K
L
There's no single magic number; it depends on your child's growth stage and how many permanent teeth have come in. Invisalign tends to work best for older kids and teens who can wear the aligners consistently. We'll assess whether your child is ready at their evaluation.
Does Invisalign hurt?
K
L
Most kids feel mild pressure or tenderness for a day or two each time they move to a new set of aligners, then it settles. Many find aligners more comfortable than braces because there are no brackets or wires to rub against the cheeks and lips.
How much does Invisalign cost in Carrollton & McKinney?
K
L
Cost depends on how complex the case is and how long treatment takes. We give you a clear written estimate before anything begins, accept dental insurance, and offer financing options like CareCredit and an in-house membership plan. Ask our team about any current new-patient orthodontic offers, too.
What happens if my child loses an aligner?
K
L
It happens — aligners get tossed with lunch trays and napkins. Have your child go back to their previous set and call us right away so we can advise on the next step. Keeping the aligner case handy and the previous set until the new one is in cuts down on lost trays during Carrollton & McKinney Invisalign treatment.

Ready to see if aligners are right for your child?

The best next step is a simple evaluation. We’ll scan your child’s teeth, look at how their bite is developing, and give you an honest recommendation.
